Your Ideal Pokémon Tales: Z-A Mega Evolution Based on the Astrological Sign

The return of Super Forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has ignited widespread enthusiasm across the fandom. Starting with the gradual unveiling of fresh additions before the game's release, to trainers developing strong views on the full lineup of Mega Evolutions, there's a lot for enthusiasts to anticipate.

Given many of the Super Forms showcasing distinctive designs that highlight their personalities, one idea came to mind: What's the best way to link this with astrology? The following is based on a mix of intuition, sign stereotypes, and personal experience.

The Ram – Super Camerupt

Honestly, Houndour's evolution was almost chosen for Aries, as they are the Super Form and astrological sign that inspire the most fear. But, a Super Houndoom appears as always angry, which doesn't match the Ram's energy, renowned for being playful, cheerful, and spontaneous. That's why the Ram far more akin to Mega Camerupt, which solely erupts when angered. Stay on the good side of both and enjoy a strong ally; should you offend them, be ready to get burned.

The Bull – Mega Heracross

Similar to a loyal Taurus, the reliable Heracross species, whether in its regular and Mega form, has aided numerous trainers in Legends: Z-A. While trustworthy, both the creature and a Taurus are also battle-oriented, and – whether it's their companion or a strong opinion – will defend their side unwaveringly. The thing about Super Heracross that recalls most of my Bull-sign companions, though, is its unashamed love of snacks. Several past Pokédex entries note their fondness for tasty sap and how it employs its horn to collect it everything, which is true Bull-sign vibe.

The Twins – Mega Medicham

Observe this total royalty. You cannot tell me this Pokémon is not the soul of any gathering, offering an endless fountain of chatter to those who wish to hear. Just like an enrapturing, sociable Gemini, it's incredibly easy to envision Super Medicham captivating an entire Wild Zone with their stories. This Pokémon's official description also states its ability to foresee an enemy’s next moves, which seems quite like a people-smart Twins.

The Crab – Mega Manectric

Cancer is commonly considered as the most sensitive member of the astrological wheel, a intense sign known for frequently becoming absorbed in their emotions. Per the official info, Super Evolution charges the Pokémon with a “huge amount of electricity, but it's too much for Manectric to completely manage,” which sounds a lot like a classic Crab crash-out. This Pokémon is also known for its capability to create a storm cloud over its own head – and if there’s one thing a Cancer is likely to do, it’s rain on their own parade.

Leo – Mega Starmie

Well, did you think I was planning to select Pyroar for the lion of the stars? Aside from the fact that it would be much too obvious, Leo is clearly Mega Starmie, the diva whose legs just became an internet sensation for being extremely glamorous (or terrifying, based on your preference). Fans couldn’t look away from the purple starfish, and that’s exactly the same energy a Leo offers to the scene. This Pokémon is also rumored to be broadcasting signals from its red core out into the cosmos, and it’s just like a Lion to be staging a show, even if for extraterrestrials.

The Maiden – Super Victreebel

The always-ready and constantly-worried Maiden is ideally represented in Mega Victreebel, the Mega with constant digestive issues. The zodiac symbol known for being charmingly judgmental is strongly reflected throughout this creature's whole lineage, from a always surprised face like a Virgo when you inform them you lack a retirement plan, to its inverted visage that’s similar to the emoji a Virgo sends to the chatroom when everyone says they want to “be spontaneous” instead of making a strategy.

Libra – Super Audino

Look at this sweet, empathetic being, who uses the feelers on its auditory organs to detect how others are feeling by their heartbeat. Consistently compassionate – sometimes to a detriment – and striving to maintain the harmony, there are numerous Scales who would likely appreciate Mega Audino’s abilities. However, to be frank, it would likely just cause them to stress even more about others.

Scorpio – Super Banette

Banette is a creature with a surprisingly tragic backstory: Abandoned as a toy, it gained consciousness through pure resentment and swore retribution on its former owner. According to the Pokédex, Super Evolution, “enhances its vindictiveness.” That sounds exactly like several conversations I’ve had with my intense Scorpion friends. A Scorpio loves karma and comeuppance, making them the perfect pair with Mega Banette.

The Archer – Mega Hawlucha

Both Super Hawlucha and Sagittarians are always staging a show. As a Archer myself, the number of times I’ve called myself some version of a “playful little entertainer” is innumerable. The most flamboyant and most obnoxious Mega Evolution, its description even mentions how it “poses to show off its power.” I would do the very same thing if I had a Mega evolved form, making Mega Hawlucha the most fitting Archer counterpart I can think of.

Capricorn – Mega Absol

Were you aware that a Mega Absol has the power to predict calamities ahead of time? That gives the exact same vibe as a Goat, who often always think they’re right. The thing is, much like a visionary Super Absol, they often are. It’s also the absolute first Super Form that players encounter in Legends: Z-A – typical of a Capricorn to get in on the ground floor of the Mega trend.

The Water Bearer – Super Chandelure

Aloof element Water Bearer is possibly the non-flame placement that is closest to a flame symbol – its sister sign is the Lion, and there are countless memes about Sagittarius and Aquarius being chaotic accomplices. Mega Chandelure’s double Spirit/Flame typing fits seamlessly with this, and the Mega’s overall intimidating aura is also extremely Water Bearer. If you hadn't yet convinced, the Mega’s Pokédex entry says it “draws in negative energy and converts it into strength.” If that doesn’t exactly {encaps
