Ex- Doctor Accused of Sexual Assault Charges Against 38 Patients

Prosecutors have announced that a ex- physician has been charged with committing assaults against thirty-eight victims who were under his care.

The Grave Allegations

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous acts of sexual assault – comprising acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.

One senior prosecutor commented, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

The Investigation

These allegations come after what police called a “complex investigation” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.

The defendant will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.

List of Offences

Prosecutors said the 45 charges he is charged with:

  • Fifteen counts of assault.
  • 17 counts of penetrative assault.
  • Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
  • 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
  • One count of attempted penetrative assault.
