Brian Eno Encourages Backing to Propel Together for Palestine Lullaby to UK Festive Top Spot.

A campaign is aiming to propel a Palestinian lullaby to the top of the UK charts. The project seeks to send support to Gaza's residents while also showcasing Palestinian culture and creativity.

A Chance for Support and an "Surprise Victory"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a chance to show solidarity with Palestinians this festive season. He noted the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“It would be incredible if that occurred, yes,” he said. “I wouldn't be completely disappointed if it doesn't manage to, festive releases are a category of their own.”

Resilient Spirit of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who performs on the adaptation of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's powerful central theme.

“It occupies a deeply meaningful spot for many individuals,” Barghouti shared. “The message is that I would prefer a dignified death than exist without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we want to live a life of dignity that we merit as a people.”

Recording Origins and Star-Studded Lineup

The track was produced after a large-scale benefit event held in the autumn. First conceived to be performed and recorded live, the piece was omitted from the lengthy event due to the event running long.

The diverse array of artists appearing on Lullaby encompasses a selection of acclaimed names from the industry. All were part of the benefit event, which successfully generated a substantial amount for relief efforts.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was produced by a group of producers and composers. The song features a fusion of the original Arabic with new English lyrics.

The organizers behind the campaign have clarified that their objective is to collect the highest amount for a specific fund. These donations will be allocated to Palestinian causes through an non-profit partner.

“We don’t have a specific target,” a spokesperson said. “We aim for the maximum achievable. Of course, the more the merrier. Every penny goes out to those in need in Gaza.”

The situation in the region was described as its extreme devastation, with a vast majority of property said to be in ruins or severely impacted.

“In that context, a few million won't make an enormous impact. But I think what truly matters is first of all raising awareness for this issue and showing the human dimension of the story.”

The single 'Lullaby' is scheduled for release this Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the charity concert will be made accessible to view on a digital service from mid-December.
